William bite down on his lower lip as he waited for Amelia to respond, she looked pretty nervous today, did he interrupt something? If so, he could just leave and come back later. But she finally started speaking, and this was when William got interested, well, not that interested at least not about the womanizer part, that’s something from Galtem that it seems it won’t change, so it didn’t surprised William. He rose his chin slowly, and folded his arms in front of his chest, when Amelia began to speak about a murder at the club tonight, William frowned and stared at her confused, when? He was there and he didn’t saw a thing, maybe it happen later? But was Galtem involved in this murder? Another thing that didn’t surprised him, tho. Amelia wasn’t making much sense now, saying it was hot in here, what was wrong with her? He noticed the more she said, the more nervous she looked.
William waited for her to keep on talking, but she basically dropped a bomb on him. Galtem was caught with some woman in the VIP lounge bathroom, and that wasn’t a surprising, but the problem in there is that, that woman was Jennifer. His Jennifer, the one who told him to leave the club because she wasn’t feel well, he thought she got sick because of some drink, when the matter was Galtem. He felt anger, disappointment and sadness feeling him, he didn’t knew what to say or what to do, he just stared down at the ground, while his eyes began to get watery. He knew something bad was going to happen, but he never thought it would be so soon, Galtem used the first day he was here to ruin William’s relationship with Jennifer, and here William thought that guy had changed, but he’s never going change.
“You serious? You sure it was her? It can’t be, she didn’t told me anything.”
William said, and just bite the inside of his cheek, trying to control his emotions. He was angry at Galtem for just come back and make out with his girl, angry at Jennifer because she didn’t told him a thing, and allowed Galtem touch her, angry at himself to be so blind to think Galtem or Jennifer changed. Then angry at the world, because it seems he couldn’t have a happy ending.
“You serious? You sure it was her? It can’t be, she didn’t told me anything.”
Amelia didn’t know where to look. The way that William reacted was simply heartbreaking. This was what she had hoped to avoid. This was why she left the club, and went home to her apartment the first time. It was not her place to tell someone that their girl had cheated on them with another, especially someone like Galtem.
“Galtem had just finished telling me he had changed, William. Next thing I knew, I had to go to the bathroom cause of the juice, and there they were. I was so shocked, I nearly peed on the floor. I felt sick. Sick cause…I couldn’t believe what they were doing.” Amelia said, with a cry to her voice. “Shane took me home, and he saw them in the VIP room, and knows about my witness statement. Why would I lie about this? My own career was on the line, I had to tell the truth.”
At this Amelia stepped back and crumpled into her love couch. When she looked up she had tears in her eyes. She had never been more sorry in her life.
“I don’t know why she didn’t tell you, William. But when the police come to get her statement, she is going to have to come clean.”
Once Jennifer had actually gotten to sleep, she had slept amazingly. Last night had ended perfectly and for a brief moment she honestly thought everything was going to be ok. It was Jennifer and William. They were the ideal couple. After one hundred years she didn’t think anything could possibly break them apart. She did not yet open her eyes, but rolled onto her side, wondering why she was not closer to him. When she did so she realized that he was not there. Opening her eyes, she frowned and sat up. No, he definitely was not there. This made her realize the full story of what had happened last night. It was like someone dropped a large bucket of water on her labeled “guilt” as soon as she thought about what had happened. Jennifer grabbed a pillow and shoved her face in it, trying not to scream. The jingling of a collar told her Penny had come in the room. She sat up and looked at the dog as it jumped onto the bed. “Penny, where’s dad?” she asked, with sad eyes. The dog merely looked back at her and gave a short bark. “Well that was absolutely no help at all,” she sighed, grabbing the dog and holding onto her.
She knew she had to tell William what had happened. After she made a huge fuss last night about not keeping secrets from each other. But she knew that if she did that would ruin her relationship with William and that was something she couldn’t stand. She wanted so bad to be selfish and to keep it from him. To forget it ever happened and forget that Galtem was back. Kissing Galtem had been stupid. Had been in the moment. He said he loved her and she believed him, but what about William? Galtem said it, but William showed it. And that was why she had to tell him. Because if she really loved him, she wouldn’t be selfish. She would tell him the truth. This realization hit her hard and she started shaking and held Penny tighter to prevent this. She needed to tell him, but he was not here. That gave her a few more moments to pull herself together. And a few more moments to worry about it.
Deciding she couldn’t just sit there and do nothing, she got up and decided to get dressed and ready for the day
Roger waited at the end of the hallway with his hands in his pockets. He was in no rush to go pounding on a woman’s door to get a statement that involved her acting rather licentiously with a man rumored to be a murderer. His day was already shitty. Exhaling a large breath, he closed his eyes and decided to focus on Amelia instead. He smiled slightly at the memory of her hugging him with gratitude after he had saved her from suspension. To feel her touch like that warmed his heart and made facing the ice bitch very worth while. Frowning suddenly, he shook that memory away. It was wrong to think of a co-worker like that, especially one that worked under him. Walking down the corridor, he couldn’t help but smile again as he thought of her working under him quite literally. Ah, if only.
As he pushed that lustful desire out of his mind, Roger stood before door one hundred. Pulling a piece of paper out of his pocket, he looked down to confirm that this was indeed Jennifer Wile’s current address. Folding the paper back up, he looked up at the door and sighed yet again. This would be no fun for him, but Roger opted to be the one to do the questioning. He had a soft spot for women, and it wasn’t because he was a pervert. His own affection for his sister seemed to carry over to his job, and he treated every female victim and/or witness as though they were fragile beings that needed to be dealt with carefully. Though this woman didn’t have a great reputation at the moment, she was still a woman who deserved to be treated with respect and kindness until proven guilty. Lifting a hand, he knocked on the door and then waited with an awkward expression on his face. Yea, this was a shitty day.
After Jennifer threw on a casual, yet adorable, dress she put on a minimum amount of makeup. She looked up from the mirror when she heard a knock at the door. Penny immediately jumped off her bed to go bark at the door. Yup. That was there big scary maltipoo. Totally fierce. “Just a sec!” she called as she finished up her mascara and went to the door. At first she figured it was William which made her nervous. Then she thought he wouldn’t have had to knock. But maybe he lost his keys. Yes, that was it. William forgot his keys so he had to knock to get let in. She was going to open the door for him and throw her arms around him. Then she was going to kiss him and apologize a hundred times. Jennifer would sit him down and explain the entire situation. He wouldn’t be happy and she’d feel awful, but she’d do anything she could to fix it. They had to fix it. That’s what William does. He fixes things. She took a deep breath and shooed Penny away from the door before opening.
She got quite the surprise when she saw a police officer instead of William. “Um, may I help you?” she asked, looking him up and down. Yes, she had made out with her ex, but nothing that would deserve an officer to show up at her door. She knew nothing of the murder since the body had been found after she left with William. She had no idea that she would have to be Galtem’s alibi and admit the one thing she hadn’t even figured out how to admit to Will yet.
While Roger was waiting for Jennifer to answer the door, he pulled his phone out to text Amelia. He knew it was highly unprofessional of him to text her outside of work related business, but he just had to see her. Just as he hit the ‘send’ button, the door opened to reveal a stunningly beautiful blonde woman. With her gorgeous presence came the sound of a dog barking and it brought a smile to the lieutenant’s lips. He was very much an animal person. Tilting his head, he gave her a look up and down before offering a polite smile “Jennifer Wiles? Lieutenant Roger Marx.” Lifting his badge to verify that he was with the police, he looked at his phone awkwardly before facing her again. “Uh…mind if I have step inside? I have a few questions involving your relationship to Galtem Manzenli. There was a murder at his club and he’s a prime suspect…however, we heard he was seen with you in the bathroom the night of the murder and I have some questions that could help clear his name. Do you have time?” His smile was friendly enough and Roger was doing his best to try not to frighten her. Questioning was always a sticky business and he in no way wanted to make her feel incriminated. However, murder was murder and he had to get to the bottom of where Galtem was exactly that night when the murder occurred. As he waited for Jennifer to respond, he tucked his phone back into his pocket and placed his badge back inside his coat. Looking at the gorgeous werewolf, he could tell his day just got longer.
The more Amelia spoke the more William could feel his eyes getting watery, he couldn’t believe this was happening. He knew something bad would happen, such as Jennifer change to who she wasn’t again, but now cheat on him? He might accept her mistakes and try fix her, but she crossed the line whenever she decided to cheat on him, and it was now, he noticed, he couldn’t change her feelings, it doesn’t matter how much he tried to make her love him, how much he turned into a perfect guy just for her, only have his eyes on her, it wasn’t enough. She still had feelings for Galtem, and that wasn’t going to change. He knows how strong love can be, and even if you try to ignore that person, you still love her, that’s what he had to go through while Jennifer was dating Galtem, and even after those all years having her single, he still keep on wanting to be with her, and when he finally was, a century passed, and Galtem came back, just to ruin their lives.
William might not be a violent person, but he was so going to harm Galtem whenever he sees him, it was basically the payback from last time the both of them met them. Now he’s remembering about it, Galtem threaten him about not make Jennifer cry, or else he would pay for it. The only ones who was making somebody crying, was him and her. He doesn’t want to hate her, he doesn’t want to think bad of her, but this clearly pissed him off, and left him pretty hurt, he was trying his best to not cry, but a tear started to roll down over his cheek. He turned around, to not face Amelia, and just clenched his fists, trying to control his anger.
“Why? Why the hell he had to show up? He said he wouldn’t show up!”
It was on that moment he just snapped, and he just punched a wall, he went to the wall. because he didn’t wanted to break anything in Amelia’s house, it wasn’t his place anyway. After punching the wall, he took a deep breathe, trying to calm himself down. He rubbed his palms against his face, and looked up at the ceiling, shaking his head. Why was this happening to him? What did he do? He didn’t deserved this, did he? It wasn’t fair!
“I’m sorry. I shouldn’t be raging here, its not your fault.”
William managed to say while trying to remain his voice calm and not that shaky. What was he going to do now? Part of him told him to break up with Jennifer and move on, the other part told him to fix up things again, and not give up. But that’s what he has been doing, he didn’t gave up for tons of years, and what for? For this? No, this wasn’t going to happen again. This was going to have an end.
It took Jennifer a second to realize what was going on. She nodded when he said her name to confirm that it was indeed Jennifer Wiles who was answering the door, but she shook her head when he introduced himself and showed her his badge. She still didn’t understand and was not eager to step out of the way to let him inside her house, so she waited to hear him out first. Everything else he said was a blur. Her relationship to Galtem Manzenli? Nothing. Non-existent. This was what she was trying to avoid. A murder? Galtem a suspect? Nothing he said made sense. She leaned forward, not comprehending what was going on.
After a moment she shut her eyes and sighed through her nose. “Shit…” she muttered. “Sorry,” she added quickly a second later. Jennifer moved out of his way to let him in and looked out the door for William before shutting it quickly. This was not how he wanted William to find out. She wanted to be able to tell him. Explain to him that it was a moment of weakness. Explain to him that she knew she was an awful person, but still loved him. She did not want him to walk in and see her telling an officer about how Galtem couldn’t have murdered anyone because he was making out with her in the ladies’ room. “Have a seat,” she offered, wearily. “Is there anything I can get you? Water, tea, coffee…” she listed, looking over towards the kitchen. The vodka she never finished last night now sounded amazing to her, but she figured she probably shouldn’t be drinking in front of him.
Roger put his hands in his pocket and watched Jennifer take in everything he had laid out for her. None of it was particularly pleasant, but its not like his job often entailed bringing good news to people. When she swore out loud, he just chuckled softly and looked at the ground, shrugging slightly “Understandable, Ms. Wiles.” When she allowed him entrance into her home, the lieutenant looked up and nodded his head once in gratitude that she was going to make things a little bit easier for him. Stepping into the condo, he saw the puppy standing near the door. Smiling gently, he crouched down on his knees and rubbed his hands together “Hey there, sweetie. Aren’t you a gorgeous little one.” Standing up slowly, he still smiled at the puppy and seemed distracted by her. However, Jennifer’s voice soon brought him back to why he was there to begin with and a serious look crossed his face once more. Walking over to her couch, he sat down as he was offered a seat and once again nodded his thanks. When she asked him if he wanted a drink, he ran both his hands over his face as though he were exhausted. He didn’t respond at first. Instead, he continued to rub his face as though that were going to suddenly make everything fall into place. Seeing that it wasn’t working, he put his hands down on his thighs and made an awkward face with his mouth. “I’d actually take something stronger than that, if you have it. It’s been a shitty…week.” Looking around her apartment, he then added “If not, water is fine.” She was stalling by offering him a drink, and he went right along with it. Roger was in no rush to question this woman about her activities with Galtem in the bathroom…but eventually he would have to broach the subject.
Jennifer looked over at him interacting with Penny. She was good and had stopped barking, though Jennifer could tell that the dog was still waiting for William to walk through the door. When he did not she simply walked over to Roger and sat down next to him, loving it when they had guests. She was on her way to the kitchen when he replied and she stopped and looked back at him, raising her eyebrows, but didn’t question it and soon went into the kitchen to grab a couple glasses. She went to the liquor cupboard to see what they had. Staring back at her was a bottle of whiskey. Of course it was whiskey. William didn’t drink whiskey as much as Galtem did, but apparently enough to have it on hand. She’d never liked whiskey and always passed whenever Galtem had it, but right now she didn’t even care. Grabbing the bottle and the glasses, she went back out to the living room and set everything down on the coffee table. “Whiskey alright?” she asked, already pouring it into the two glasses and setting one closer to him and then sat down on the couch next to him on the other side of Penny, leaving a good amount of space between them. She took a drink to stall just a bit longer, but was too anxious to get this over with. William could be home any second so the sooner they were done with it, the better. “So Galtem needs an alibi,” she started awkwardly, not knowing what to say. Yes, she had been making out with Galtem at the club. Yes, she was ashamed of it. “Well, I imagine everything you’ve been told is true. I saw him last night, but only for a short amount of time, so I’m not sure how much help I’ll be.” Jennifer took another drink, avoiding looking at the officer.
