Again she darted around him, and the swipe of his large hand tried to seize the pants, but this time they ripped in two. He couldn’t well wear the two parts back up to the house. Virgo dropped the ripped part and then trampled on it as he stalked her with wicked intent. The loud growl emitted from his throat meant he was getting very excited about this game now.
He cornered her between the stream and the dense foliage, and licked his lips.
“I want my kiss.”
“Come and take it then.” she grinned, dropping the other half of his pants, no longer caring about them. There was a much bigger prize she wanted. Her eyes stared at him hungrily, watching the play of muscles beneath the wet shirt. She licked her lips, feeling her pulse speed up. Her pupils were blown with lust, looking almost black upon her face. She could tell he was trying to corner her and without Jezebel to see her through, she would have to rely on herself to evade him until he caught her.
Like a rabbit, she turned and darted into the woods, an echo of a laugh reaching Virgo’s ears. The chase was on.
Who would be the victor?
Faster he went, leaping over fallen trees and rocks, getting closer, so close. Almost there, till he made the final leap at her to knock her to the ground, and claim victory.
She heard a howl behind her just then, and her smile widened. His wolf was out and on the hunt and she was the prize.
She was no match for his speed in his wolf form but she gave it her best shot. She could practically feel him getting closer and she put on a burst of speed, hoping to dodge him a little longer.
But it was not to be.
Something hit her from behind and she fell to the ground with an “Oomph!” sound. Laughing, she tried to get to regain her footing but a snarl froze her in place.
She knew that sound. Her Alpha was displeased that she was trying to assert her dominance, something she knew she was not to do. She remained where she was on the ground and waited.
She looked over her shoulder to see his head resting upon her back and one of his large paws resting across her thighs.
She smiled fondly at him.
“May I turn over? As much as I love your weight upon me, there is a stick digging into my breast, love.” she giggled. She loved him in his wolf form. His fur was so soft to her touch and his deep eyes were filled with warmth. She itched to run her fingers through his pelt.
“Remember how I said I wanted to marry you?’ The Count said, smiling at her warmly. He clearly had been thinking about this, and had ideas in mind. “Well…why don’t we run off to the mountains…and get married on the quiet. I book a cabin, or a whole manor…what do you think?” He asked, curious to her reply.
“Remember how I said I wanted to marry you?…Well…why don’t we run off to the mountains…and get married on the quiet. I book a cabin, or a whole manor…what do you think?”
His hand stroked the skin of her stomach beneath her shirt and she was sure he could feel her pulse racing beneath her skin as she stared at him. He was completely serious.
Elvira had eschewed love when she was a young demon, never giving a thought to finding someone who could get past the demon that she was to the woman beneath the skin. She had heard stories of how her ancestors, Joffery of Brax and his angelic wife, Selene had this one true love, despite the odds and it always made her wary of such emotions.
She never dreamed that she herself would experience such things, and now understood how so long ago, Joffery forsake himself and everything that made him who he was, for love.
She never gave thought to large weddings and fathers walking daughters down the aisle to pass their care onto their future husbands. She and Virgo were beyond all that.
The fact that he wished to seal their union in such a basic way, showed to her just how much he loved her.
As they were mated for life by virtue of their lifebond, she had no need of a large ceremony and all the frippary that went with it.
She had been silent for so long, going through her thoughts, she had to wonder if he thought she would deny his request.
She scooted closer to him, the movement placing his hand against her lower back and smiled at him.
“I love it.” she stated in a soft voice, her eyes full of love for her mate.
“I know we are mated, and I have marked you, but I want to have us blessed. In some small chapel. I know you have family, and all ….but I feel this is something private. I want you to remember this for the rest of your life.”
Virgo meant every word. He could think of nothing better than to be alone with her, saying his vows to the woman of his dreams.
“To seal our union in the eyes of our Creator.” she nodded. “Though we are creatures of Darkness, at one time, we were His. I may not be of His flesh, I am my grandfather’s subject for he was once one of His…a Fallen Angel, but an Angel none-the-less.” she stated softly, caressing his cheek. “Where you go, so shall I follow.”
She didn’t know what he was planning behind that devious mind of his, but she knew whatever he had planned for their impending union would be something she would remember for eternity.
